Revamping

We are currently in the middle of a "move". There are boxes all over the place, my toy box has been put away, and mom only has a few left out for me to play with. There's a place called a condo that they are talking about which is apparently not finished yet. We will have to spend some time at a friend's house until said condo is finished. Grandma says it is going to be like camping, to which mom reacts without any excitement.

Once we have moved successfully, mom and I have some big plans for this blog. We are very excited!

Stick around - we'll be back soon!

Return of the Doxie

Wow! It has been a while! You have to understand, it's all Mom's fault. She's the one with opposible thumbs- I don't even have dewclaws! I do give her credit though, she has been working very hard. She works at the PetsHotel at PetSmart, and recently got certified as a dog trainer for them! Great for her, but that meant I had to learn some commands.

We are in the middle of a move, and hoping to be there next month. Right now, there are boxes ALL OVER. Mom hates it- she has only packed some of her books (she's up to 8 boxes and still has 2 shelves left).

Look how big I've gotten:

With that, I will try to be more vigilant about updating this. Which means I get to pose for pictures- I know how cute I am!

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I want to share one of my FAVORITE toys! It's a beehive with three holes where three little bees fit inside! Best of all- the bees squeak! Mom finds it weird that we dogs like squeaky toys because it reminds us of the noise animals make when we're killing them. What are your thoughts?

My "Dumbo ears"- Mooommm, can you stop taking pictures of me and just let me play already?!

Nom nom nom... I love chewing on the hair of the bees!

I give the bees mohawks! Hehehe...

Isn't this the greatest toy ever? I love trying to get the bees out of the hole!

Is there something on my face?!?!?!?

The First Noel

I know it's April, but Mom just got some Christmas pictures in from my first Christmas.

This is Sam and I fighting over our new toy. He just doesn't like to share! Alright, I don't like to either.

Apparently, it's a tradition to dress dogs up for the holiday?! What maddness is this?! I'm hoping Mom loses the stupid hat in the next year. Or maybe I'll tear it up. Although I am pretty cute....

Obviously, Rocky is not a fan of being dressed up either. The family said that Zeb was tolerant of it. He must've not been the brightest thing...

Mom got each of us pups a stocking! She gets me presents throughout the year but it made me feel like part of the family.

Presents were followed by playtime! I found out the hard way I can fit in Hannah's mouth.

Mom and I don't ever need a reason to cuddle. But post-Christmas cuddles are very nice!

The Four-Legged Haggerty's

Hello, readers! I thought I would take today to introuduce my four-legged companions.

You all know me- Keats! Mom named me after the poet John Keats. She started reading his poetry last year, and she just LOVED him! So when it came time to pick out a name she thought, why not? I'm also called Weenie, Tiny, Teenie Weenie, and goodness knows what will develop.

Next up is Sam. Sam was at the pet store with me, and he had been there for a while. He started out all nice and sweet, but there is a terrorist side to him! He's fun to play with, and it's pretty funny to see Mom chasing after him yelling when he's stolen something from her room. The family says he looks like a fox. They were told he was a Pomeranian/Shih Tzu, but they just couldn't see it. After some research, they've decided he's a Pomimo- Pomeranian/American Eskimo.

This is Rocky. He's a Beagle, and he is ooooold. Rocky's cool though, since we're both hounds. He gets really cranky when I want to play with him.

Then there's Hannah. Hannah gets shaved like a sheep every so often. She is Sam's best friend, but I like to be the barking referee and join in!

The cool thing about Hannah is how big and warm she is. When Mom's lap isn't available, I like to plop myself in between her front paws. So comfy!

I never got to meet Zeb. Mom adopted him from the Potter League for Animals in RI where she went to school. He was an old French Brittany, but she absolutely adored him. He died back in November, and Mom was so heartbroken she went up the street and found... ME! Mom says it's weird, because she loved Zeb as a best friend, and she loves me like a baby. She hopes that as we get older together, we can be best friends too. I think we're already on the right track!

Oh, and here's a little April Fool's gimmick that had Mom in an UPWOOF this morning!

Greetings Human Readers!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Keats and I am a 6, almost 7 month old dachshund. Mom's not sure if I'm a mini, or long-hair. After her adopted dog died, she went up the street to the local pet store and found... me! She's really big on adoption, but you can't help who you fall in love with.

Wasn't I tiny??? I haven't grown much, but I have gotten longer. Mom says I have "Dumbo" ears... don't know what that means.

I really love playing with toys, but my favorite has to be the bees. It's a plush beehive with three squeaky bees inside! How much more could you ask for?

I couldn't ask for much more. :)
